Gonna write a novel in one month flat. At least, that's the idea!
Stayed tuned, and starting November you can see how well I do. You can even help me succeed! Just cheer me on and pester me if I start falling behind, okay?
I'm all signed up for
NaNoWriMo now. Thanks to Sara for putting out the word in
her blog. Only thing is, I can't work on any of the stories I've already started. According to the FAQ:
Do I have to start my novel from scratch on November 1?
Yes.
This sounds like a dumb, arbitrary rule, we know. But bringing a half-finished manuscript into NaNoWriMo all but guarantees a miserable month. You'll simply care about the characters and story too much to write with the gleeful, anything-goes approach that makes NaNoWriMo such a creative rush. Give yourself the gift of a clean slate, and you'll tap into realms of imagination and intuition that are out-of-reach when working on pre-existing manuscripts.So... I've got to go back through this blog and find all the ideas I posted about that I haven't started, then choose one. You wanna help? If so, let me know and I'll post all the ideas I'm thinking about and you can tell me what you'd most like to see become a novel.
I'm gonna need big support on this one. I'm hoping people who don't regularly comment here will come out to help me too.
