This thought was for the expectation that the phone I got from Aleese was to tell me she passed her class, and so earned her degree. And she did!

Tuesday: Kindness of Strangers
I was thinking about the time before Christmas when Michael was little and he and Mom (and I?) were in Toys R Us, and Michael wanted a toy gun but Mom told him no. Over and over she told him no, for whatever reasons. As they were shopping, a man came up to Mom with a wrapped box and said to her "Every little boy should have a toy gun." So Michael got a toy gun from Santa that year.... :)

I love it. It's one of my two favorite holidays. My favorite changes based on what time of year it is and how I'm feeling. Sometimes I'll say Halloween, sometimes I'll say Christmas. Sometimes I say both!

I decided a short while ago that we all should pick one thing a day that makes us happy. I thought it'd be cool if everyone of us with a blog/LJ/whatnot were to put up one thing each day. But I didn't actually expect people would do it, so I didn't post about it or start it.

Monday morning I realized I actually needed to start doing this. For myself. I had been getting bitter and begrudging towards specific friends in certain situations, and really needed to stop that. So, I started then. One a day. And right away on Monday I already started feeling better.

The one thing doesn't have to be a blessing (as in "count your blessings"). It doesn't have to be big, or little, or common everyday, or rare. It just has to be something that makes you happy more than once, I mean that makes you happy whenever you think about it.

Here's my One A Days so far...


Monday: Mom

Tuesday: My Goddaughter

Wednesday: Happy Memories - Convincing a skeptical little child at King Richard's Faire that I was an elf, was the memory I was thinking of when I realized I was smiling and Happy Memories should be my One for the day.

Thursday: Having multiple Good friends in Michigan
