  • As I Live and Learn

I've been collecting my writings from years gone by as I find them. Each time I move - now 5 times in the last 3 years - I find more scraps, loose sheets, etc. with my thoughts from various times in my life. I've decided to copy as many of them as I can here to try and keep from losing them again, and to share with the world. Please feel free to comment as thoughts occur to you. Either send them to trekker9er@yahoo.com or use the comment links here. Thanks, and Enjoy!

In the News (Paper that is!)

I was completely shocked this morning when I checked the Metro Times for the LARP article I was interviewed for (I was told it'd be in print today), and found it is the cover story!

    http://metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=8402

I was not surprised, however, to find my part in the article pretty small. And, unfortunately for my LARP, KANAR gets a lot more space than NERO. Which is because the woman who wrote the article went out and visited a KANAR event. She told me she hadn't made it to a NERO event because every time she tried the weekends we (NERO Detroit) or NERO KZoo were playing just didn't work for her. :p Oh well. It's still a fairly interesting article.

Also, for those of you who know Jim, he's in the article in relation to LARPing and running Vampire: The Masquerade. He even got his picture in there! :p Had I known pictures were going to be related, I would have sent her one of me in character, or maybe this one.

I think I feel a little gipped. Mostly for NERO, not so much me. I've been interviewed and then seen the results enough times before to know how little of an interview is actually used. I wasn't expecting much for myself, and she used two of the handful of things I was hoping she would. But I think NERO is woefully under recognized compared to the other LARPs. *sigh*

But someone tell me, does the article do LARPing justice in general? I'm too involved to be able to tell!
