“Guilt” Buying

I am starting to guilt buy for the kids. Not that I did anything I feel guilty about. Nor that I feel guilty for not being able to reopen daycare / school, the library, the playground, play dates, and everything else we used to be able to go do. “Guilt” buying is simply a way to introduce something new into their lives after 5 weeks of lock down. Used to be I’d prefer to make experiences the special thing instead of items (excepting for the holidays / birthdays when they get both!) but we’ve all but run out of new experiences. It’s so bad Aurora is even asking to come with me and wait in the car when I go grocery shopping for 1.5 – 2 hours once every other week. I feel so bad. So items it is, to inject something new into this monotony.
