WOW! Just got to look through the U of M Detroit Observatory in Ann Arbor’s 150 year old telescope that’s longer than a mini-van, about 200 magnification, completely mechanical and manually operated – and saw this! Except WAY better. In color, much more even light across the Moon’s surface (not just in that one spot there in the middle), more epic curvature on the top with a thin blue-ish haze (atmosphere or quirk of the telescope?), and more dramatic fall off on the left-bottom from bright Moon face to dark shadowed Moon face. Not to mention the craters. AMAZING! I got to see the Moon! With my own eyes!
Amber did too. :)
