Amber and I started piano lessons on Wed. June 29th. We then, of course, had to practice almost daily.
Second day in and I’m done. UGH! No thank you. I remember detesting practicing between classes when I played the flute growing up (which I chose to play because I wanted to play it). So I start thinking of how I can gracefully bow myself out of this experience I had organized for my daughter and I to share. Something about when school starts back up and not enough time after work / after-care.
Then I start reading “Surprises for Samantha” to Amber, which is one of the American Girl books, and happens at Christmastime. In the book, Samantha’s soon-to-be Aunt sits down at the piano and starts playing Christmas songs. And I thought, “I want to do that.”
So now I’m trying to remember to practice every day. And you know what? I don’t loathe or detest it! Once I get to remembering every day, then I’ll work on actually practicing everyday. ;)
