Craft Fail

Remember this SO CUTE craft that circled Facebook back in May-ish? I just spent like 1/2 hour trying to track it down, but couldn’t. The version from FB had three steps on it on how to achieve this so great keepsake. Guess what? I actually tried it! And guess what else?! It was a total crock! I ended up frustrated, and upset at all the time I’d lost trying to do this supposedly easy and very cute thing and then even mroe time trying to make it come out right. GRRRRRRR. After I was too far into it, I knew the recipe was wrong based on their definition of “like play-doh” clearly not being the same as mine, and that the cookie recipe my brother makes at Christmas that has similar base ingredients and a crucial step to getting the dough to the right consistency that this recipe omitted. Firstly, we couldn’t even make hand prints in it because the dough kept sticking to our hands and pulling up with them as we pulled them away! I tried making the dough thinner to help, and finally just started cooking it, then pulled it out to do imprints while it was semi-stiff. Secondly, it didn’t cook to a nice flat top, it rippled and muffined. Lastly, it wouldn’t come out of the pan! *sigh* Here was our end result. Last time I try to do a craft based on Facebook.
