Beef up my Halloween DVD collection

Note to self: Time to start figuring out how to beef up my Halloween DVD collection.

Movies I need to get include -
- Monsters, Inc
- Little Monsters (Fred Savage and Howie Mandel)
- Casper (Christina Ricci)
- The Haunted Mansion (Eddie Murphy)
- Fright Night (Roddy McDowall, 1985)
- Addams Family (movie)

Movies I need to watch to see if I want to get include -
- Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie
- The Worst Witch (Tim Curry!)
- The Witches (last movie produced by Jim Henson…)
- Halloweentown
- Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
- Jason and the Argonauts (I’ve never heard of until tonight)
- The Monster Squad (I’ve never heard of until tonight)
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney, 1949)
- Halloween is Grinch Night (I’ve never heard of until tonight, but a must see now!)

I already own:
- Hocus Pocus (Bette Midler, et al)
- E.T.
- Ghost Dad (Bill Cosby), at least I think I own it
- It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
- Teen Wolf (Michael J. Fox)
- Ghostbusters
- Labyrinth (David Bowie), at least I think I own it

Movies I will not get / have no interest in:
- Night Before Christmas (saw it, wasn’t that good imo)
- Corpse Bride
- Monster House (I couldn’t make it past the first 7 minutes)
- Coraline (just no interest)
- Beetlejuice (well, maybe I could be interested someday)
- Munsters (movie)

Oh, and then there’s Gremlins, and Young Frankenstein (Mel Brooks) … probably should get them too.

Yes to Halloweentown. 1 is the better of the 3 but they’re all Halloween must in our family. We also include Twitches in our Disney Halloween rotation.

    Witches… yes!

And I totally remember The Worst Witch. I have no idea why I liked it. Even at the time I first saw it, I knew it was terrible. lol!

Wallace and Grommit is a staple around here, we all love Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

The Garfield movies are cute, especially the Halloween one.

I also forgot to put Drop-Dead Fred on my list somewhere, hmm.

Jenn-Ann: I forgot about Twitches, that shall go on the need to watch list!

Erin: Never heard of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. Just looked it up. It’s marked as 8th in the top 10 scariest movies marketed to kids. Not winning points there!

Alice: I found the Garfield Halloween movie very boring and not worth it. But I watch the Thanksgiving one, and the Christmas one is my favorite Christmas movie!

But… but it’s based off a classic. And there’s the whole, defeating evil with love thing.

Monster squad is one of my favorites from my childhood. It’s bad 80′s, but I love it till this day.

So this year (2014) I found and bought:
    - Casper (Christina Ricci)
    - The Haunted Mansion (Eddie Murphy)
    - Addams Family (movie)
    - Halloweentown / Halloweentown II – I was very disappointed given the recommendations to this. Perhaps it’s good for 8-12 year olds?
