Speech for Emily and Jericho’s Wedding

For those who don’t know me, my name is Jennifer German. I’ve known Emily for ten years, and in those ten we’ve become very close. Emily has a warm heart, a practical mind and a poet’s soul. She carries her Mother’s strength, and works her butt off to secure the future. She treasures true love in any of its forms, be it family (nod to her siblings) – friend (nod to her friends) – offspring (gesture to her kids) – or romantic (hand to Jericho) – and will do whatever is needed of her to defend those relationships.

I don’t know Jericho nearly as well as I’d like. But thinking on what I do know, it’s almost like he’s Emily’s opposite. He’s laid back, but reacts strongly when pushed too far. He’s very artistic, and lives in the now. And, of course, he’s not so tall, where Emily is… statuesque!

One thing that’s not different about the two of them is their love for each other, and for their kids. It’s Love that’s seen them through the hard times, and Love that’s brought them to this day.

Emily has wanted to have a wedding for a long time, but they have refused to do it until they could afford to. A dress, a cake, a hall, guests. It’s been many years in coming, but with the help of Emily’s Mom and Sister, that day has finally arrived. And it was beautiful. Congratulations, Emily and Jericho!
