Sitting at the top of my basement stairs. The sky has been more light than dark the last hour, flickering constantly. (Now I know what a Halloween night is supposed to look like!) So interesting. I’d be interested to be outside watching, but promised to be safe so I haven’t. A tornado was confirmed touch-down in Saline several minutes ago (the town next door).
Another tornado is currently being tracked moving East, but it’s already East of me. I’ve got bare basics on the stairs, just in case. After the tornado watch/warning storms a couple weeks ago I thought to put together a tornado kit for the basement. Finished it tonight.
Update 10:37pm: That tornado just passed Merriman & Middlebelt right near I-94. That’s super close to the Metro airport, and a caller in says it tore up part of the area. Hey you all down-river and in Detroit. Heads down!
Be sure to keep you and the little baby safe hon. Shirley and I moved down to Alabama and I am awaiting my first tornado still and am quite nervous/scared. We have had warnings but nothing more where are so far.
Residual part of the storm just passed us. It went by so fast! Both cats have been hiding all evening, but the dog won’t stop pacing!
10:48pm: Oh definitely. As much as it intrigues me, I really don’t want to see a tornado in person. (Couldn’t from where I am in the house anyway!) Don’t be scared, just be prepared!
10:50pm: The storms are whipping through! I’m kinda surprised we still have power. Happy, but surprised. Anyway, the tornado warning is over for Ann Arbor. I’m heading to bed soon. Everyone have a good, and SAFE, night!
