I'm Fine - SUV is Not

I'm fine - Really, I'm okay. Just remember that.

So, on Tuesday August 26th, I rolled my car off M-14 (that's a freeway in Michigan). It was about quarter to 6pm. I was headed from work to volunteer at St. Mary's ER. The short version is: I tried to avoid hitting the car in front of me, locked up my car trying to brake, and once I hit the gravel in the break down lane lost total control and tumbled into the ditch alongside the freeway. The long version is below.

Surprisingly, I wasn't much hurt! A scrape on my elbow where I skinned it against the door handle, a bruise on my knee where it hit the steering wheel, a bruise on the back of my leg where the seat belt buckle was - a big really colorful one the next day! And a blister with attempted swelling on one finger, lots of pain but not much wrong.

However, my poor SUV is dead. *sad* I rolled all the way over, 360 degrees. The insurance company called it a total loss, and had a check in my hand the next day (woah). I wasn't going to take pictures, because I want to remember my SUV as it was. But, in the end I realized it was probably best, and they are below also.

Okay, additionals are not below, but to follow later. I'm tired, but I wanted to get something up before it had been too long, it's already been two weeks, today!

But I have to say: I loved my SUV (that's pronounced soove), and was very sad to loose her (him?), it. And worst of all, no one would let me grieve, because "it was just a car" "a car is just a thing" "it can be replaced" and "what's important is that you're okay". Yeah, fine, that's all well and good, and true yes, but I LOVED my car, and I know my car loved me, and there's a hole that it's gone. I really miss my SUV.
