Random Things

Well, I don't have much to say, but I like that I've been getting a post up once a week, so here we go.

Quote of the ...

"If one believed that the universe had a beginning, the obvious question was, what happened before the beginning. What was God doing before He made the world? Was He preparing hell for people who asked such questions?" - Stephen Hawking, during a lecture in California 03/14/2007

On the Home Front

Yesterday I started my new weekly work schedule, which is working from home every Wednesday, in the office the other four weekdays. Why? Because of my fear of heights. It was nice, much more so today than yesterday. I wasn't feeling blah or apathetic or un-wanting to go into the office. It was like a good Monday morning.

One Life Goal
At/Near the beginning of this month I found out sometime in the last few years I had achieved one of my life's desires: to save someone. I was told by a specific person that if it hadn't been for me, she didn't believe she would be here today. It makes me happy on one level, and very glad on another.

I've thought in the past maybe someone hadn't committed suicide because of me, or maybe I had helped in some small way to keep someone from dying. But I've never had confirmation (to the best I can remember) directly. And in this case, the person in question wasn't someone I even realized I was helping in such a way.

It soothes me to know I've made that difference. One life desire accomplished. Two... well four, five?, more to go.
