A Little Help?

I recently found out a person I know with moderate Parkinson's Disease spends much of her time, when she's not out traveling, sitting bored at home. She reads, and enjoys reading, but there's only so much of that one can do. And she's cutting back on how much she travels because it's getting harder for her to fly so much and she has to use a walker to get around. So I've been trying to think of some hobby I could introduce her to that would help her pass the time. Any ideas? She used to knit and sew but had to give them up because her hands shake too much. Similar problem with writing anything more than a few words at a time. And she stopped driving years ago, though I think that was more because of her age than the Parkinson's. I just don't much like the idea of her sitting around bored all week long.

Well... my dad's Parkinson's is so advanced that there's not much he can do, but I did think that - if she still wants to write - she may want to consider dictation into a recorder. A digital recorder is a modest investment, and she can upload recordings right onto her computer if having what she comes up with transcribed is problematic.

Sorry, that's all I've got... but I wasn't going to stare at the '0' in the comments line any longer. ;-)

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate it. I'll ask if she wants to do that.
