I've been collecting my writings from years gone by as I find them. Each time I move - now 5 times in the last 3 years - I find more scraps, loose sheets, etc. with my thoughts from various times in my life. I've decided to copy as many of them as I can here to try and keep from losing them again, and to share with the world. Please feel free to comment as thoughts occur to you. Either send them to trekker9er@yahoo.com or use the comment links here. Thanks, and Enjoy!

Interesting
I modified what was sent to me to take out the chain mail message and other sensationalistic statements. The idea itself sounds good to me.
------------------------------------------
A campaign encouraging people to enter an emergency contact number in their mobile phone's memory under the heading ICE (In Case of Emergency) is rapidly spreading. Originally established as a nationwide campaign in the UK, ICE allows paramedics or police to be able to contact a designated person in an emergency situation.
The idea is the brainchild of East Anglian Ambulance Service paramedic Bob Brotchie and was launched in May this year. Bob, 41, who has been a paramedic for 13 years, said, "I was reflecting on some of the calls I've attended at the roadside where I had to look through the mobile phone contacts struggling for information on a shocked or injured person. Almost everyone carries a mobile phone now, and with ICE a rescuer would know immediately who to contact and what number to ring. The contact person may even know of their medical history. For more than one contact name use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc."
By adopting the ICE advice, your mobile will help the rescue services quickly contact a friend or relative. It only takes a few seconds to do, and it could easily help save your life or put a loved one's mind at rest. Simply select your person to contact in case of emergency, enter them under the word ICE and the telephone number of the person you wish to be contacted.

I've got "ICE MI 1", "ICE MI 2" and "ICE MA 1" in my cell phone. Hopefully people will be able to recognize the state they are in.
