I've been collecting my writings from years gone by as I find them. Each time I move - now 5 times in the last 3 years - I find more scraps, loose sheets, etc. with my thoughts from various times in my life. I've decided to copy as many of them as I can here to try and keep from losing them again, and to share with the world. Please feel free to comment as thoughts occur to you. Either send them to trekker9er@yahoo.com or use the comment links here. Thanks, and Enjoy!

Spring 2000? - Generic version of Personal Essay for Scholarship Applications

7 AM Already? I've got to get up and go to school. Is it Thursday? I'd
better not forget my flute for Band today. I hope I don't have too much
homework this afternoon. I'll have to finish it before dance class is this
evening. Then choir rehearsal. Thursdays are so Busy! Wait a minute, it's not
Thursday, it's Saturday! That means Phyllis should be here to take me to
volunteer at the Food Pantry by nine. Colorguard practice is after that and the
Football game begins at 1:30. I hope I can get to the National Honor Society car
wash to help out before then. I must remember to print out a financial report
to bring to church tomorrow for the Treasurer and Financial Committee. Oh
yes, I'm babysitting tonight too!
I love to babysit, or child-sit as one of the girls I take care of calls
it. It's a great feeling when someone puts their faith and trust in you. And
to be in charge of another life! That's a great responsibility, especially
when that life depends on you for food, etc. until his/her parent comes home.
I hope to be a good, loving mother someday.
Before I become a mother I would like to have graduated from a
prestigious university with at least a Masters in Engineering. I hope I'll have a very
successful career in Architecture and Design or a specific field of
Engineering such as Chemical. I could then use the money I earn from being such a
success to help save the Environment and Endangered Animals for the next
generations. After all, "The world was not given to us by our parents, it was loaned to
us by our children."
I would also enjoy finally finishing my book and having it published. I
love singing, reading, and Science-fiction as much as babysitting. What I
would absolutely love to do is design the first Space station orbiting Earth for
people to live, work, play, and raise families on. It would be awesome to
turn Science-fiction into Science Fact.
