Family:
Arnold Freeman (2312) was born in Pheonix Arizona, Untied Americas. The son of a working class family, he had no siblings, for his mother died giving birth to him. He swore from his teenage years on that his children would never have to live the type of hard life he had as a child with a single parent. To his father’s (Mark Freeman) credit, he brough Arnold up with a strong sense of values. In 2340, Arnold was able procure a job with Starfleet Command as a construction contractor for the newly revamped Starfleet Academy in San Fransisco. While there, he met the secretary of a fleet admiral, Annabelle Reese.

Annabelle Reese was born to parents Scott, and Melanie Reese in Kent County England. Raised in a well to do family with ties to English royalty, she was afforded every oppertunity money and influence could purchase. However she was extremely independent and cast aside the hand outs she was offered, instead taking a job as a secretary in the Federation bureaucracy. She was assigned as a secretary to Admrial James Faust. While supervising the rennovation of the auxillary offices she met Arnold Freeman.

The budding romance grew quickly, and the couple were married in a matter of months, much to the shock of the Reese family. Mark Freeman was proud of his son, and a year after thier wedding passed on. His last words were reported to have been: "My boy has done and started his own family.."

Gordon Charles Freeman was born on June sixth, 2345 at four in the afternoon. Much to Arnold’s relief, the birth was normal, and wife and child were healthy. It was noticed immediately how Gordon seemed to have an eye on the stars.

Pre-Academy Life:
Gordon attended the finest of schools, at the insistance of his Grandparents. He was a quiet child, and read a great deal in the classics, and was fond of tinkering with various gadgets. He had several close friends, from all walks of life. The friends he made as a child have remained close to him ever since, fond of the family and boy that showed them so much affection. Arnold Freeman worked hard to make sure his son saw people for who they were, not what they had. After graduating from the Stafford Academy, Gordon was sent to England to gather a degree in languages at Cambridge, and then back to the Massachussetts Institute of Technology on theoretical physics. The pace was grueling, but it prepared Gordon well for what lie ahead of him.

Starfleet Academy:
Gordon Freeman was enrolled in the Starfleet Academy class of 2362 at the age of seventeen. The child prodigy of Arnold and Annabelle Freeman had decided to act on his dream of traveling the stars. Due to his two degrees already accuired at institutions of higher learning, Gordon was bumped automatically to a junior’s standing, and ordered to double up on physical training and combat classes, and focus solely on his selected major of ships engineering/operations, and minor in command. Due to his sudden advancement, several other cadets were jealous of Gordon at first, but when his capability and people skill shied through, he was accepted and seen as an equal. He graduated in 2363, third in his academy class.

Starfleet Career:
At eighteen, a week away from nineteen and one of the youngest ensigns in starfleet, Gordon was assinged to the U.S.S. Lydia Sutherland, an Excelsior class cruiser as an operations/conn officer. Freeman was stationed on the Lydia Sutherland for seven years, and the ship grew to be his home. In 2368 Gordon Freeman was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade after commendable action on an away mission.

At this time in Gordon’s carreer, he went through several postings in short order. As a favor to Gordon, the captain of the Lydia Sutherland had him transferred to another ship, so he might be able to advance in rank.

In 2369, Lieutenant (jg) Freeman was assinged to the U.S.S. Ambassador as an operations officer. He served there with more distinction, gathering respect for his efficiency and affability. In 2371, He was promoted to full Lieutenant. As a reward for his hard work, he was to be sent to another ship as the Ambassador reported for an overhaul at Earth.

The posting he was awarded with was on the Galaxy class U.S.S. Enterprise, under command of Captain Jean Luc Picard. He served a total of a year and a month on the Enterprise, and performed with distinction on several missions. When Enterprise returned to Earth after the Borg encursion and battle of Wolf 359, Gordon was reassigned to the newly revamped U.S.S. Ambassador as Chief Operations Officer. It was here when he learned of the Lydia Sutherland’s valiant sacrifice at Wolf 359. The loss of the cruiser, were several of his friends were posted affected him greatly.

Gordon served on the Ambassador with great distinction on several missions from frontier patrol, to deep space exploration. He was noted to have a sense of duty unparralled by any other while stationed there, only matched by his friendly personality. His tour of duty on the Ambassador was a happy one for Gordon Freeman, and he made several friends. On new years day, 2378 the Ambassador returned to Earth, and Freeman was reassigned, for reasons unknown to him.

In mid 2378 Freeman was transferred to the U.S.S. Griffin as Chief Operations Officer.

Personality Profile:
Gordon Freeman is extremely capable and ingenuitive, capable of deep thinking and consideration of many possible variables in an instant. This has led others who are less secure with themselves to foster senses of resentment and jealousy. Fond of playing cards, where he takes great personal delight in keeping a poker face, and fooling his fellow players completely.

He is extremely personable and friendly, and has a sense of empathy unmatched by most humans. This has led to the counselors on every ship he's served on to question him why he didn't enter the medical field. On every posting he has held to date, Gordon has made several close and unbreakable friendships. he's very loyal, and willing to make great personal sacrifices for those he considers friends.

Freeman is on the whole happy with himself, and pleased with the type of person he is. However he hides a sense of inadequacy at times, and a sense of loneliness, even when surrounded by friends. He still searches for his soul mate, and hopes that he will find her soon, so he might have a family while they are young enough to enjoy it.

Religion has played a great part in Freeman's life. It's molded his senses of duty and integrity into unbreakable limits, and the times that Gordon Freeman has really stood apart from the group at large is when he has refused to compromise his morals. Since birth, he was taught to fail as a human being and honest man was worse than dereliction of duty. Is openly candid at times, and unafraid to tell his opinion of a matter, and who he may be better qualified to answer than those around him. Attends organized services as often as possible.

On a humorous note, and more serious one, Freeman sees the young officers he's often forced to serve with as children. But because of his higher age for the rank of Lieutenant he sometimes becomes demoralized, wondering if he is somehow doing something contrary to the interest of his career. Will openly chastise a complaining junior officer or crewmate for being "ungrateful for what they have" at times. Dislikes those that place their career above the interests of their crewmates, or own well being.

Gordon has the highest respect for the chain of command, and will not break it on any occasion. Is very practical, and will perform his duty in the utmost of efficiency, making his placement as operations officer a benefit to the crews he serves with. Is a fair leader, but unafraid to dismiss inadequate officers immediately. It's garnered him a reputation of being ruthless at times however.

In conclusion, Gordon Freeman is a well rounded, balanced person with a friendly personality. His past is not marred by personal tragedy, real or imagined. Has always served to the utmost of his ability, and with distinction. Holds very tightly to his set of morals and will not force them upon anyone else, but will not hesitate to give his complete opinion on a matter if asked to do so.
