This character is responsible for all medical and health care needs of the crew of the Starbase. The character is a medical doctor.

The CMO plays mainly in Sickbay but can appear at any location or any location during critical and life threatening situations and is often included in missions that involve injured or sick people, or any medical anamolies... especially concerning any new or relatively unknown species.

This is a department leadership position that sees many opportunities for activity and is featured heavily in nearly all missions.
