This character is responsible for the flow of intelligence information from the Starfleet Intelligence Corps, control procedures and access for the use of intelligence on the Starbase, as well as information gathering and analysis in the field.

The CIO works hand in hand with the Chief of Security and Chief Tactical Officer but reports directly to the Starbase Commander.

This is a department leadership position and can be featured in almost all missions due to the need for gathering and analysis of information.
