Personal Traits:
Always on the lookout for the next adventure, Oliver leaps at
any challenge, which is why he accepted the promotion to CMO of Deep Space 15. At
the edge of Federation space, Oliver knows anything can happen, but he also
realizes that the oppurtunity is one in a lifetime and he is very dedicated to
his duties.
Being grounded also gives him a cool head in bad situations. Where most young
officers would balk at such problems, Oliver keeps a calm perspective and a
steady mind - an interesting contradiction to his fiery nature.
Personality:
Full of energy but cautious and precise are words best used to
describe Oliver. At any given time he could be in a Holodeck trying out a new
Holo-adventure or in the Mess Hall making new friends. A medical genius, and a
whiz with alien physiology, Oliver can also be quiet and introspective and his
new posting on DS15 has made him especially nervous since he wonders if anyone
will take him seriously because he's so young.
Hobbies:
Holo-adventures
Swordfighting
Piloting
Family Information:
Mother: Andreia Clarkson, human, pilot
Father: Dominic Clarkson, human - deceased
Sister (older): Katelyn Clarkson, human, teacher
Personal History:
Oliver grew up in Sydney, Australia with his mother and older sister. He was
never too close to his father because his parents divorced at an early age. Up
until his early teens, he was hardly a model student. He was always skipping
class to go surfing with his friends. At the age of 12, he came home to his
mother crying. Oliver was told his father died from an anyerysm and even though
he wasn't too close to him, it came as a huge shock. He disconnected from the
people around him and devoted himself to his studies. He planned to become a
doctor so that he could save others from the pain he had to go through.
In his late teens, his adventurous side got the better of him and he joined
Starfleet Academy. While he was there, he began to socialize more and he met his
best friend, Jake Thompson. They got along famously but Oliver started to develop
stronger feelings for Jake. He never told him he loved him because he didn't want
to harm the friendship and lose another person he loved. Eventually, they both
graduated and Jake got a posting in Deep Space. Oliver got over his heartbreak
and moved on.
Graduating with honors and achieving the rank of Lt. J.G., Oliver took a posting on
Spacedock in orbit of Earth so he could be close to his family. His mother, a
test pilot for experimental shuttlecraft, taught him the finer techniques of
piloting and he soon developped it into a hobby. Being so close to Earth also
allowed him to attend his sister's wedding.
His restlessness eventually got the best of him and he jumped at a promotion and
a posting in Deep Space. He misses his family terribly, but he knows they're
proud of him and what he's achieved. With that driving him, Oliver is on a sort
of personal mission to get rid of his self-doubt and become one of the quadrants
most accomplished physicians.
