June 2002 Newsletter
Hello everyone. It was a slow month of June, with many players enjoying
their summer vacation, but we still managed to have an amazing month for
Celestial Fleet. We had many exciting things happen and continue to
drive on through June with a momentum that will catapult us into an
amazing July.
Fleet Award Winners-
Well it is that time again, and we have once again done our Fleet Award
Nominations. It was a tough decision. All the candidates nominated are
so good, and so deserving of the Fleet Awards they where nominated for,
but once again not everyone could take the award. So here are your Fleet
Award Winners for the month of June.
Best Character Development: Lt. Shandi Soudeski and Lt. Usagi of the USS
Liberty for Post #917. In this post, Usagi and Shandi finally meet up
after not seeing each other in several years. Gorath also proposes to
Usagi after months of dating on the ship.
Best Forwarding of Mission: Commander Yuri Ivanof, with help from Lt.
Cmdr. Daem, Captain Myst, and Lt. J.G. McInnis of the USS Griffin - June
27th post - This one post managed to tie up the many loose ends of the
previous mission, present a wonderful eulogy (IMO), set the stage for
the new mission, and get the mission started.
Best Overall Post: Commander Ashla Bogan and Lt. Commander William
Eastwood of the USS Liberty for Post #869. In this co-post, Ashla and
William decide that enough is enough and try to get back control of the
Liberty from the hijacking Black Dragons. This post was lengthy and very
well written between the two officers.
Best Use of Other Characters: Captain Jonathan Beauragard of the USS
Hawk played by Mike. Mike using Jonathan set up a meeting for the senior
staff, bringing in all the senior staff to one area. He controlled the
flow of the meeting nicely, allowing everyone to talk, and he
acknowledge everyone, with questions and general discussion. He gave
clear and concise goals for the departments and all its staff.
Most Improved Poster: Chief of Science Lt. First Class Dedja of the USS
Hawk played by Mark. Wow, what can I say about Mark and Dedja. When Mark
first brought in Dedja he only posted maybe 6 times and this was over 6
months ago or so. Dedja remained on the shelf really unless someone
tagged off to her. A few months back, he was tagged off to for Dedja,
and he jumped to it. He put out an amazing post, and from there has done
steadily improved. I read all the posts in this game, as do my MODs, and
Dedja has increasingly within the past month become one of our favorites
to read. The stuff with the Chief Engineer, and all the little amusing
comments here and there, and the exceptional writing that is being put
out from Mark, I just could not imagine not nominating him. Just
amazing, what he has accomplished in such a short time.
Most Valuable Poster: Michelle... Michelle, is the GM for the USS
Hawk/Raptor game and has been running it for over a year. She plays over
9 characters, not including NPC's which she regularly uses to aid in the
moving of the plot, and helping out those that come into the game.
TIE for Recruitment Award
Recruitment Award: Theresa. Theresa has been advertising for Hawk/Raptor
in her groups because she says that Hawk/Raptor is her favorite. She has
done a great job, and we have added 3 new players this month to the
game.
Recruitment Award: Lt. Shandi Soudeski for recruiting three new members
at the end of June. She has really helped out on rebuilding a bigger
ship in just the few short weeks she has been on the Liberty. I owe her
a big thanks.
TIE for Rookie of the Month
Rookie of the Month: Commander Sean McBaye of the USS Raptor played by
Robert. He came into the game with a wacky idea, and wanted me to let
him go with it, and I said, okay. So he did and he did a wonderful job,
putting out great work and acclimating himself to the Raptor crew within
a short time. He is and eager poster and answers all his tags, putting
out high quality writing every single time.
Rookie of the Month: Lt. Commander William Eastwood of the USS Liberty.
Will joined in at the beginning of June and has posted frequently on the
Liberty. He has joint posted with numerous officers to get them more
involved and help them out with the storyline. William had to beat out
two other new comers on the ship to win this award. I have never seen a
simmer join up on a ship in his first month and do what he has done. He
is a trooper!
A New Kind of Recruitment-
This past month each sim in the fleet did a great job of recruiting,
each gaining members. Congrats to all! Now Celestial Fleet is looking
to also expand its numbers in larger amounts. We'd like to add about
two more sims to our little community within the next couple of months.
If anyone knows of other Star Trek sims out there that have at least
three members and do not currently belong to another fleet, the council
would love to hear about them! Please e-mail CFCouncil@yahoogroups.com
with the sim's name and the sim's website address and/or a contact
e-mail so that we can contact the sim with the appropriate invitation to
join Celestial Fleet. Thank you!
What would you like?-
In continuing efforts to make Celestial Fleet more successful and more
in tune with you, the members, the council would like to hear from you!
What would you like to see done with/added to the newsletter? The
website? What do you think would help the fleet improve as a fleet?
Please send us anything you think of or have an opinion on:
